Over the years I've had some interesting conversations with people who practice magic who also come and have left behind one or more of the big Three Yahweh Religions.
Many of these people have left behind the religions they were are part of almost completely, at least they appear to have on the outside. Secretly of course there may still be some fear. Many teachers and mentors in the Occult and Witcraft world have set some unusual tests from 'reverse baptism rituals' to spitting on a cross in order to prove to themselves that they are over the fear of Hell and upsetting their previous deity / master of choice.
After leaving the Church, Christianity and Jesus (note that these aren't necessarily always the same thing lol,) some may find another path and find meaning and connect with the new structures, people, and even spirits they find, however I believe it to be a worthwhile endeavour after finding a new path and new way to go back to your previous and "flirt with it a bit" something I see this magical practioner (self proclaimed Dark Magician) doing every know and then.
I'm not saying I agree with this persona practice or what he is saying, but I thought some of you might enjoy the video series he is producing and get a kick put of watching his commentary on Christian Practices from his new path and perspective.
I think those coming from such religions may need some sort of mindset to move themselves away from their previous practice. So any simple ritual to mentally mark this transition could be enough to if you like to formally close the door if the person believes in it even if it is to many of us meaningless.
