A Magician’s Deception

I’ve always thought magical warfare is a fascinating area of magical practice. The reason for this is simple, it’s all moves and counter moves. Outside of magical practice I do like my extreme sports and adrenaline fueled activities. They get the blood pumping and of course it’s all just a game anyway and I do so love to win lol.

Yes, there are risks and you can get hurt when involved in fights (or extreme sports lol), but you know that's half the fun, also I tend to find I do well with an incentive and keeping myself alive is a pretty good incentive.

So here is an interesting form of defense and protection that you might like. I didn’t invent this technique but I know of a number of practitioners who use it and not all that many talk about, but then perhaps there's a reason for that too lol.

On the face of it you may think this form of protection is very flimsy and easily defeated, but as I will explain later you would be surprised what can happen. There are a number of reasons why people think this, but before we tackle those then maybe we should talk about the actual method lol.

So the method involves utilization of a magical mask. I personally actually use a physical mask, but the point is that when you do baneful magic on another magical practitioner, then they are going to be able to send that energy back to you. Normally when this happens it’s like starting a magical game of tennis. You Hex them then they send it back harder, then you send it back again, and so and so forth. Most witches don’t really care about their Hexes being fired back at them after all they can just transmute the energy or send it back again like previously said. What witches tend to care about is being found out.

You see, as people advance in the practice of magic then their psychic sensitivity increases, not only can they raise, program and send energy (spell casting), but they can also see where it came from (or whom it came from). If you're Hexing some random witch you think is a bit of a dick, and they trace that spell back to you then guess what? You just made a new enemy and some witches are like a dog with a bone when it comes to enemies. You might become their new pet project. Their new lab rat which they try all their new troublesome magic out on (I have a few lab rats of my own lol.)

I know you can probably deal with that but why bother. It might seem fun at first, but after a while it can get boring and then you might really have to … err … extinguish their spark in order to make them stop lol.

What if the witch you cast on were to trace that spell back to someone or something else? They won't know it’s you lol. The mask technique is really just symbolic of what we're trying to do so let's explain the basics of how it works. Now this is where we lose the witches who haven't got to a foundational level of magic yet, but never mind maybe they can do some googling or something.

What you're going to do is create an egregore (your own spirit). You are going to create an actual living spirit and then possess that spirit in order to work through it. It will be almost like a husk.

Most of the time Egregores and servitors are created out of clay and designed for specific purposes, to help the magical practitioner with something specific. Yes you could create one to go cause trouble for the other witch instead of cursing them, but where's the fun in that lol.

Instead of tying your egregore to the physical plane and a physical body by making one out of clay, what I like to do is forge a mask and tie it to that. The reason for creating an egregore is that it is a living spirit which you are working through. It is a mask and so when the person directs the energy back or trys to link the energy / Hex back to something it will end up going to this egregore spirit.

Now there are a number of ways you could create the spirit and a number of forms you could forge it to mimic but my three favorites are:

  1. Make it think it’s a human person,

  2. Make it mimic some kind of unusual spirit,

  3. Make it take on the form of something the target practitioner is scared of or doesn't like.

Let's break these down then.

If you were to create an egregore spirit which resembles and energetically feels like a person then the witch tracing the energy back will think they know who the person is. Say we made one and called him ‘Raven Grimsby,’ and gave him a back story, well all of this would come up in a divination reading by the targeted witch. Unless they are particularly adept at sensing energetic composition (and most psychics seem to be shit at that), then the target won't know it’s not a real person. Trust me I've fooled many a witch with this, embarrassingly a lot of people fall for it lol.

Shout out to those who remember 'Raven Grimsby' from Witch Wars

The second approach, to make it mimic a spirit would have the benefit of making the witch just presume this isn’t an attack coming from a human but instead it’s just some low level energetic parasite or something. They will blame the Hex on a bad negative spirit they think they just picked up somewhere lol.

The third approach (my favorite) is to mimic a type of spirit that the target witch fears. If they think goetic spirits are creepy or can’t stand angels then make up an angel or goetic type energetic mask and use that form. This has the added effect of having the witch who hates angels or whatever, presume ‘oh yeah the Angles are out to get me again’ lol.

This egregore mask can be fun and you can add it into your hexing and baneful magic rituals. I tend to dispose of the egregore with the remnants of the spell or ritual. I never recycle or reuse them. The funny thing is that the target witch always tends to do some kind of retaliation attempt which ends up killing the egregore and that witch often in a smug way thinks they won the fight and defeated the bad spirits / witch (egregore), but of course it was always part of your devious plan for them to think that all along so they don’t come looking for the real culprit lol.

So the next time you are under attack by a spirit, then maybe you should think to yourself, ‘Is that really a spirit or someone pretending to be one’ lol?
