Or Crematorium if your that way inclined lol

There has Never been a WORSE time for spirits of the dead or the deceased to contact us. I realized this after I read an article in a famous paranormal magazine, which was actually claiming the opposite lol. I have to admit I physically started shaking my head when I read about the so say breakthroughs in paranormal investigation, spirit communication and I suppose what these days passes for Necromancy lol.
Apparently in the olden days of witches, oracles and general acceptance of the dead coming back, there was little to no way of contacting the dead for the everyday person, or so the author of the said article would have you believe. It seems that it was only with the 20th Century gizmos and contraptions which has now given way to a bunch of paranitwitz exploring run down houses and taking digital photos and sound bits that we now have a way of contacting the dead.
This was news to me given that I have been speaking to and communication with spirits of all types from an early age (and that's just this life.) I remember the old festivals of centuries ago when we would all gather and celebrate and brace ourselves for the veils thinning. When the dead (both nice and troublesome) would start coming back and causing all sorts of commotions. I know of the refined practices within certain temple complexes which gave a few the opportunity to study and learn the mysteries of the spirit world.
I can’t remember needing light boxes and tape recorders to contact the dead. Nor can I remember being confused as to whether a spirit answering my questions was simply a squeaky floor board or someone's tummy rumbling at 3 oclock in the morning (Oh that long night at 30 East Drive lol.)
I have to wonder whether the average person's knowledge of the dead and spirits is going backward? Are we getting thicker? Do today's modern paranormal investigators know more about the nature of spirits than the local Wisewoman or Cunning Man from way back when? Well after having worked with a few (and not just little local groups) I would have to say “No they haven’t a fucking clue”. ‘they’ being the paranormal investigators of course, some of the modern Cunning Folk have rather upped their game though lol.
In all my years of working with paranormal investigators I have come to the conclusion that the reasons for them never really getting very far is as follows. They don’t keep their mouths shut and so those with true knowledge run a mile when they come with their camera crews. Their main aim is to prove to the world that the paranormal exists and the burden of proof is always different depending on the person in question. And of course my favorite reason being that, they don’t learn any fucking magic. I mean seriously the point of magic is to gain understanding and power to manipulate unseen forces so you would have thought an occult library would be your first port of call and not a bloody camera shop lol.
I know I have strong views on the secrets of magic being exposed to the world (I don’t think it’s a good idea), but when it comes to proof of the paranormal there is only one form of proof that counts in my book (and that goes for proof of magic also.)
If someone says they have a magical ability then don’t believe them. If they show you that ability and it seems legit and you can’t debunk it then again DON’T BELIEVE THEM. If however they can teach you the ability and you can do the magic yourself, then by all means believe it. This is the one thing I tend to tell all my students and I say it twice as loud when being asked about such things by mundanes (muggles) especially in regards to whether psychics are legit.
Con Artists and charlatans can fool even the smartest people and so sometimes you can’t believe your own eyes when you see someone do something. When however you can do that thing yourself and it works again and again then maybe you’ll start to believe. When it comes to spell casting I find this especially true. There is a magical moment when it comes to teaching that a student who hasn’t much experience with magic makes, it’s not the first, or second, or third spell but the sixth or seventh successful spell that you see the change within them.
They originally start by being skeptical that it wont work. Then it does and they still think it was a fluke. When they do their seventh spell and it works I normally ask them “do you still think spells and magic don't work”? And they always say the same thing “Who gives a shit, all I know is I'm getting what I want so I'm gonna keep doing it”.
I hate paranormal investigators . It promotes bad practice imo amongst other things. Our favorite missing Odinson learned that yesterday . He’s been blowing me up the past few months all into the paranormal shows and wanting to get all this equipment . Yesterday he found a spot that did have a door there . An old car museum that had a hearse inside from past that didn’t look like a hearse . What amazed me was his psychic development was there . He knew the car was scary as hell lol . But of course he was there with no wards on . For me it m actually glad he chimed me into it because there indeed is a…
Liam I know you prefer talking/recording over writing but honestly I always really liked this blog-style posts you did earlier. 😄 thanks for posting them again.
